About Me
Hi, I'm Alex!
I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in the state of Connecticut.
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from New York University and undergraduate degree from Fairfield University.
My training and experience spans over 10 years working primarily with adolescents and young adults.
Prior to starting my private practice in Wilton, I worked within a larger outpatient team providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy to individuals and families using the full evidence-based protocol.
My background also includes clinical work in higher levels of care.
I am fortunate to have operated in a variety of roles within an adolescent residential treatment program. As a program clinician, I provided direct care in the form of individual, family, and group therapy. I also held a supervisory role as the lead of the therapeutic milieu and managed a team of front-line residential treatment staff. Together, my team and I regularly provided in-vivo interventions to de-escalate high risk situations.
As a clinician for an intensive outpatient program, I facilitated several weekly therapeutic groups for those requiring greater support than offered in standard outpatient treatment.
I have also served as clinical supervisor for other therapists working in acute settings.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with several community providers including psychiatrists, psychologists, registered dieticians, and educational professionals.
I am a member of the National Association for Social Workers. I am actively engaged in continuing my post-graduate education through ongoing seminars, conferences, and trainings.
