Phone Consultation
Determining appropriate fit between client and therapist is essential. In order to assist in this process, I offer a 10-15 minute phone consultation free of charge. In this time, I will listen to get a better sense of your needs and determine if my skill set is appropriate in effectively supporting you. If it is determined that I am not suitable to support you, I will provide recommendations of alternative providers or programs.
Initial Evaluation
Following a phone consultation, new clients will be scheduled for an initial evaluation. Initial evaluations are approximately 60 minutes in length. During this time, we will discuss your needs, history, and ways in which I may be helpful to you.
This first meeting also serves as a way to further assess goodness of fit between client and therapist. Following the initial evaluation, both parties will determine appropriateness in moving forward in the treatment process. If we are in agreement to proceed, I will provide a recommendation of a preliminary treatment plan.
If appropriate, during this meeting I will ask for your consent to contact other professionals with whom you have previously or are currently working with to collaborate in your care.
For children and adolescents, parents/guardians will be asked to participate in the initial evaluation.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are 45-50 minutes in length.
Frequency of sessions and treatment approach will vary based upon client need and clinical recommendation.
Family Therapy
Family therapy sessions may be between 45-60 minutes in length.
Frequency of family sessions and treatment approach will vary based upon client need and clinical recommendation.
Teletherapy
Teletherapy involves the use of electronic communication to enable clinicians and clients to work together remotely. In order to increase accessibility to therapeutic care, and when clinically appropriate, Teletherapy is available as an alternative to in-person sessions.
Collateral Meetings
Occasionally, collateral meetings with additional providers may be needed to assist in delivering effective care. When warranted, and with client permission, I may participate in such meetings. For instance, an off-site meeting or conference call with a school system to discuss the intersection of mental health and educational needs.
